There’s a reason Las Vegas is affectionately called Hawaiʻi’s Ninth Island.

Not only are there more than 23,000 people who live in Clark County who identify as Hawaiian or South Pacific Islander (according to the 2020 U.S. Census), but thousands of people from the Islands travel to Las Vegas to gamble, eat and shop.

So it makes sense one of Hawaiʻi’s most beloved restaurants chains—Zippy’s Restaurants—is opening its second location in Sin City.

Zippy’s opened its first Mainland location in Las Vegas—Arroyo Crossing, to be exact—in October 2023, and it’s been such a success, the chain is opening a second one in Summerlin South on March 25.

Guests who want to dine at the new restaurant—4590 S. Hualapai Way, Las Vegas—on opening day can start lining up at 8 a.m. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m. Expect cultural ceremonies—hula, music, lei untying—that day.

The restaurant, which has 22 locations on three islands in Hawaiʻi, will feature a menu of local favorites, including chili, Korean fried chicken and the popular Zip Pac. Napoleon’s Bakery—with dobash cakes, cornbread and malasadas—will open in this location, too.
