It’s hard to plan something more romantic than watching the sunset with your sweetheart in paradise—and Maui is a perfect place for that. If you decide to spend the afternoon at Ocean Organic Vodka—we wouldn’t blame you if you did—you might want to stick around for the sunset too: The views from there are incredible. But you’ll soon discover other prime viewing points across the island. If you’re staying Upcountry, Sun Yat-sen is an idyllic and secluded spot to see the sun’s final rays. Or you could venture to the island’s south shore, to Wailea Beach or Charley Young Beach in Kīhei, and watch the sunset from Maui’s golden sands.

Sunday Morning

Feast on a Sunday Brunch

At Kō, the restaurant at the Fairmont Kea Lani, Sunday is brunch day. It’s the only day of the week that brunch is served, so it’s a grand affair here. The restaurant’s menu is an ode to the multicultural influences that weave together Hawaiʻi’s unique culture and culinary landscape. Kō, which translates to sugar in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language), marries Hawaiian food with Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Korean and Portuguese cuisines, all of which were brought together during the Islands’ sugar plantation days. At brunch, you can feast on dishes ranging from poi and pōhole fern salad to char siu pork ribs and Okinawan soba noodles. You can also find traditional American breakfast favorites like scrambled eggs and bacon. And there’s a bonus: Brunch is accompanied by live local entertainment.
