Hilton Hawaiian Village is situated on Duke Kahanamoku Beach in Waikīkī, a vibrant, walkable neighborhood with restaurants, shops and cultural sites. (Waikīkī is also a great jumping-off point to explore the rest of Oʻahu.) The recently renovated hotel is great for families, too, with five pools (with slides!) and a 5-acre saltwater lagoon where you can ride an aqua-cycle or swim like a mermaid. The hotel also hosts a starlight lūʻau—Fridays are best—with live entertainment, cultural games and island-inspired cuisine. There’s a fireworks show every Friday night, too.
