Restaurant Week Hawaii: dining deals at 90 eateries on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and Big Island

RestWeek

If you’re in the Islands this week, you’ve gotta eat out.

Restaurant Week Hawaii  — a seven-day celebration of the cuisine scene in the Islands — starts today in 90 establishments ranging from fine dining restaurants and fast-food counters. Participating eateries on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island will feature special menu items, discounts and promotions.

Now in its fourth year, a portion of the proceeds will go to support the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head — Hawaii’s first four-year culinary program. In a news release, Conrad Nonaka, Director of the Culinary Institute of the Pacific, said: “Restaurant Week Hawaii provides the perfect opportunity for couples, families, friends and visitors to enjoy Hawaii’s culinary scene from fine dining to fast-food.”

Among this year’s participating restaurants will be Alan Wong’s (Alan Wong’s ginger-crusted onaga, pictured, above), d.k Steak House, Nordstrom Marketplace Café, VINO, Stage Restaurant, hank’s haute dogs, Morton’s The Steakhouse Honolulu, Cane & Taro (Maui), Pineapple Grill at Kapalua Resort (Maui), Ruth’s Chris Steak House (Maui, Oahu & the Big Island), Genki Sushi (Oahu, Big Island & Kauai) and many others.
