Name Sea Life Park’s new baby dolphin. Win a free trip to Hawaii.

Congratulations! It’s a boy! Now he needs a name.
Oahu’s Sea Life Park welcomed a new addition to its marine life family on Feb. 27—a healthy male Atlantic bottlenose dolphin born to longtime Dolphin Cove residents Laka and Kaleo. The growing young ‘un will finally get his public debut at the park on June 26. But he still doesn’t have a proper name.
That’s where you—and a possible free trip to Hawaii—could come in.
Sea Life Park is launching a worldwide contest to name the new baby dolphin. (That’s him and mama Laka in the photo, above.) There will be one winning name chosen, of course, and one grand prize awarded to the individual who provides the winning name. But the grand prize will differ depending on where in the world the winner resides.
Here’s the grand prize breakdown:
If the grand prize winner lives on Oahu, the prize is …
• A three-night stay for two at the Sheraton Waikiki
• An in-water dolphin encounter with mama dolphin Laka and the baby
• Attendance to a winner’s reception at Sea Life Park this fall
• An annual family pass to Sea Life Park
• Four complimentary Dolphin Royal swim-with-the-dolphins sessions (good for one year)
If the grand prize winner lives on a neighbor Hawaiian Island, or anywhere outside Hawaii, the prize is:
• Two free round-trip airline tickets to Oahu
• A three-night stay for two at the Sheraton Waikiki
• An in-water dolphin encounter with mama dolphin Laka and the baby
• Attendance to a winner’s reception at Sea Life Park this fall
Prizes are also being offered for second- and third-place names—a Dolphin Royal swim-with-the-dolphins session for two (good for one year) for second place, and four Dolphin Encounter sessions (good for one year) for third place.
Names are being accepted now through Aug. 31, 2010, online at the Sea Life Park website.
According to the contest’s rules for entry, a panel of judges will select the winning name “based upon the meaning and reasoning of the name.” The winning name will be announced no later than Sept. 30, 2010.
Good luck! And congratulations to the folks at Sea Life Park on their newest addition to the family!
