June Jones: Warrior no more

University of Hawaii football coach June Jones is now a Mustang.

The Warrior coach resurrected the UH football program from an 0-12 cellar-dwelling season in 1998 to an undefeated 12-0 current season.  Today he formally accepted an offer from Southern Methodist University to lead its own long-suffering football team.

Jones’s hire was officially announced by SMU brass today.

We wish him well. We worry about our Warriors’ future.
