How to Watch the Merrie Monarch Festival 2024

Here's how you can watch Hawaiʻi’s premier hula competition live.

The 61st annual Merrie Monarch Festival runs from March 31 to April 6, with the competition held at the Edith Kanakaʻole Multipurpose Stadium in Hilo on Hawaiʻi Island.

One of the largest events of the year, the festival features three straight days of competition—the Miss Aloha Hula competition on April 4, the kahiko division on April 5 and the ʻauana division on April 6—with other events leading up to it, including the popular Merrie Monarch Invitational Hawaiian Arts Fair and hōʻike performances.

Where to Watch the Merrie Monarch 2024 Live

To watch the contest live, local station KFVE will stream the event from its website. If you can’t stream your web browser to your TV for fullscreen action, you can get K5 on channel 1006/06 with Spectrum, Hawaiian Tel or DirecTV customer, and on channel 8 with Dish Network.
