Hawaiian Airlines launching Honolulu-Brisbane route with introductory fare

Hawaiian Airlines is now selling tickets for its new nonstop Honolulu-Brisbane, Australia route with introductory round-trip fare of $1,106 (includes taxes and fees) offered for travel starting in Honolulu. The three-times-weekly service is slated to begin on Nov. 27, 2012.

The introductory fare will be available for purchase through Mon., July 18, and are good for travel starting on Nov. 27 and ending on May 30, 2013, with a maximum stay of two months. For more information about flight tickets, click here.

Adding Brisbane service will increase Hawaiian’s weekly flights between Honolulu and Australia to 10, with daily services already operating to Australia’s largest city, Sydney.
 
Subject to Australian government approval, Hawaiian will be the only U.S. carrier flying to Brisbane. The capital city of the State of Queensland, Brisbane is centrally located on Australia’s east coast and is known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, world heritage listed rainforests, the iconic Outback territory, and the leisure destinations of Australia’s Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

In a news release issued by Hawaiian Airlines, president and chief executive officer Mark Dunkerley said the Brisbane-Honolulu flight is expected to further boost tourism travel to Hawaii.
 
“Australians love Hawaii as a holiday destination, and visitor numbers have grown steadily since Hawaiian inaugurated service on the Sydney-Honolulu route in 2004,” Dunkerley said.
 
He continued: “Competitors followed us and now, eight years later, Hawaii is one of the most popular and fastest growing international holiday destinations for travelers from Australia.” Dunkerley added, “The Brisbane gateway will provide much easier access to Hawaii for residents of the State of Queensland, and more convenient connections for travelers from a number of other Australian states.”
