Hawaiʻi’s First Resident Cirque du Soleil Production Debuts this December
Tickets are now on sale for the Waikīkī show.

Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group is breaking ground with its first resident show in Hawaiʻi this December.
The production is entitled ʻAuana, loosely translating to wander, veer off the beaten path or to embark on a journey in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language). Cirque du Soleil, famous for its jaw-dropping acts and theatrical artistry, promises audiences a captivating experience that pays homage to Hawaiʻi and its culture. The team is proud to consist of international and local talent in this show celebrating the Islands, with impressive acrobatics, comedic skits, enchanting hula and beautiful music.
Performances begin on Dec. 5, 2024, leading up to the world premiere on Dec. 17. Tickets are now on sale for the show at the new Outrigger Theatre at Outrigger Waikīkī Beachcomber Hotel.

In a news release, creative cultural producer Aaron J. Salā said, “For so long, we have held ʻAuana close to the chest and we are thrilled to share this project with Hawaiʻi and beyond thanks to the grandeur of Cirque du Soleil.”
Audiences are invited to experience ʻAuana, a story spread across eight chapters. From the Polynesian migration to Hawaiʻi and a tribute to Hina, the Hawaiian goddess of the moon, to the birth of surfing and the “golden age of tourism,” each chapter explores a distinct tale.
“Our collective—as a group of artists, designers and cultural creatives—has brought a fantastical and otherworldly journey to life through the songs, stories and traditions of our Hawaiʻi, with heart-racing performances descended directly from the heroes and luminaries of Hawaiian traditions,” Salā added.
The production is also making its mark in the ever-evolving legend of entertainment in Waikīkī.

ʻAuana is set in an intimate theater space with seats 784 guests at Outrigger Waikīkī Beachcomber Hotel’s new theater.
Maui Brewing Company Waikīkī, also located at the hotel, is expanding with three new bars to offer audience members locally brewed beers, Island-inspired seltzers and craft cocktails.
Cirque du Soleil is partnering with Maui Brewing Company Waikīkī to offer a VIP experience. These upgraded guests will have access to a new open-air lounge designed by Manaola Yap and are invited to meet several artists from the show.
Tickets for ʻAuana start at $85 and the VIP experience is priced at $149, which can be purchased at cirquedusoleil.com/auana. Kāmaʻāina can receive a 30% discount. Shows begin Dec. 5, 2024, and are slated to run from Wednesday through Sunday at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
