Every Gift Contributes to Positive Change for Hawaii

What Giving Tuesday in Hawaii is all about.

The holidays have a way of inspiring people to reach across the divides that may separate us. And Giving Tuesday, right in the heart of the holiday season on Tuesday, December 3, is sure to bring people together again in 2019.

For the past two years, banks, businesses, and nonprofits—many who compete at other times—have come together to demonstrate that we all have a role to play in strengthening Hawai‘i’s communities by supporting our local nonprofit organizations on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This global day of giving, often referred to as Giving Tuesday, has been localized for Hawai‘i with the statewide campaign called #GIVINGTUESDAYHI.

Assistance Dogs of Hawaii brought puppy ambassadors to spread the word about their great work and Giving Tuesday.

Everyone can join in and bring about positive CHANGE in Hawaii by donating gifts of time, treasure, and talent to their favorite nonprofit organizations through the website CHANGEforHawaii.org.

To amplify statewide giving, the Hawaii Community Foundation and many Giving Tuesday partners will be awarding more than $20,000 in $1,000 grants to nonprofit organizations that are nominated in posts on social media. Winners will be announced on December 4.
