Podcast Show Notes: Have Aloha Will Travel EP17
This week Cat and Kevin talk to Kainoa Daines, director of culture and product development at the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau.

It’s Monday! You know what that means. Cat and Kevin are back with the 17th episode of the “Have Aloha Will Travel” podcast. This week, they’re talking story with Kainoa Daines, who works as the director of culture and product development at the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau.
After shouting out our Ask Hawaii Instagram video series, Kainoa gives Cat and Kevin the lowdown on HVCB’s Kuleana Campaign, which aims to educate visitors, and residents, about Hawaiian culture, ocean safety, ocean conservation and land safety via immaculately produced 15-, 30- and 60-second videos. You can find these clips of HVCB’s YouTube channel under the “Travel Tips” playlist.
Catherine also asks Kainoa a few of the questions she threw at notable Hawaii residents like Alan Wong and Raiatea Helm for her “Local’s Guide” feature, which will be running in the November/December issue of HAWAII Magazine. Kainoa’s go-to place for lunch? Rainbow Drive-In. His favorite neighbor island? Hawaii Island, which has some of his favorite food spots like Verna’s Drive In, Cafe 100 and Two Ladies Kitchen. But he likes Maui, too, and always goes to Sam Sato’s. When on Kauai, Kainoa heads to Tip Top Motel, Cafe and Bakery for its ono Göteborg sausage and Hamura’s Saimin Stand for saimin.
