From the shores of Waikīkī to the coast of Maui, there are dozens of fireworks displays every year across the state of Hawaiʻi to welcome in the new year. Here are some of the best places to be this coming New Year’s Eve if you want a front row seat to one of these epic firework shows.

New Year’s Eve at Turtle Bay Resort

9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., $75 for non-resort guests

If you’re looking to kick it out in the country this upcoming New Year’s Eve, look no further than the swanky Turtle Bay Resort New Year’s Eve Soirée party. The resort’s lobby bar will host live music and entertainers, such as Cirque du Soleil-style performers and more, before the firework show commences at midnight.

If you want to ring in 2024 in style, SKY Waikīkī’s New Year’s Eve party will be one of the biggest and busiest in town—which is saying a lot. With six DJs keeping the party going well past midnight, you’ll get an unbeatable view of the firework show that launches from a barge just off the shores of Waikīkī.

Ring in the New Year in Style at International Market Place

7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., free

New Year’s Eve isn’t all about parties and bars. At the International Market Place, there’s fun for the whole family. Hosting fashion shows, musical entertainment, photo ops and with all eight restaurants open to diners, you can easily spend your evening at the IMP before counting down the new year. (Also, the International Market Place is the only place in Waikīkī with a giant, illuminated pineapple that will drop at midnight, so that’s pretty cool.)

New Year’s Eve at Wai Kai!

8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., prices vary

Looking for a pool party to enjoy the New Year’s Eve fireworks on Dec. 31? What about a wave pool party? At Wai Kai on Oʻahu’s east side, you can hang and drink at The LineUp and watch surfers rip it up at Wai Kai’s exciting wave pool. DJs and a live band will keep the party going at Wai Kai’s Event Lawn, and you can enjoy some exquisite dining at the venue’s in-house restaurant, Kitchen Door, with the whole family.

Noon Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop at Mililani Town Center

10 a.m. to 1 p.m., free

Expecting a young child to stay up until midnight on New Year’s Eve is a tall order. Fortunately, the folks at Mililani Town Center thought of a way to make sure even the youngest of keiki (kids) can enjoy New Year’s Eve with its Noon Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop. Instead of celebrating 2024 once the clock strikes midnight, families can enjoy a day of celebration that comes to its crescendo at a much more reasonable time of 12 p.m. There’ll be plenty of activities and performances to enjoy so come early to enjoy the show.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Poʻīpu Beach

8:15 p.m. to midnight, free

Fireworks at Poʻīpu Beach is a yearly tradition, and one of the best places to see the Kauaʻi sky light up with fireworks. It’s an early evening firework show too, perfect for families with young keiki.

Fireworks at the Grand Wailea Resort

11:59 p.m., free

While there are numerous aerial firework displays on Oʻahu, Maui residents and visitors only have a few options for publicly accessible firework shows. One of the best, however, is at the Grand Wailea Resort on the island’s southwest coast, and if you can park close enough to the property, you’ll get a show that will even rival Waikīkī’s bombastic fireworks display.

Grand Wailea Resort, 3850 Wailea Alanui Dr, Wailea.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks Sail

10 p.m. to 1 a.m., $249

Seeing a fireworks show happening right above is a magical sight, but seeing it from a catamaran sailing off the coast? Talk about a way to ring in the new year. And you can do just that with Trilogy, a locally owned and operated Maui boat tour company that is offering an exciting, adults-only New Year’s Eve experience. From top-shelf cocktails to late-night chef delights and more, you’ll be able to eat and drink your fill on this unique New Year’s Eve celebration.
